The branches that were broken off the olive tree will be grafted back in again. I borrowed that imagery from Paul, but we'll see it in action as we continue in John's book of Revelation. God promised over and over again to redeem the Jews, and He will. And the beautiful thing is, they'll be reconciled the same way everyone is: by faith in Jesus, the Messiah. Now About The Bride - Part 3 of 3

When God wraps up the human story, He ties it all the way back to the beginning. "And on either side of the river was the tree of life...and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations," John writes in the last book of the Bible. We saw that tree in Genesis. Adam and Eve could have eaten of its fruit then, but - well, you remember what happened. Now that God's promised Redeemer has come, and His plans have been fulfilled, He restores our access to this miraculous tree. The Beginning Of The End - Part 3 of 3

God's plan has always been to live together with humans in open fellowship - and He doesn't fail at what He plans. The final chapters of Revelation give us a picture that's almost too good to be true - too beautiful and too blissful to believe. Almost. It's a world without sorrow, sin or death. No pain, no loss - a life of love and fellowship with our Father, without shame or fear. Of course, we'll need a new home. The Apostle John wrote, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth...."

Everyone will meet Jesus. We'll either meet Him as Savior...or as Judge. Before the Creator can reprise His masterwork with new heavens and a new earth, He has to close the books on our current reality. Accounts must be settled, rewards and punishments must be paid out - in other words, the final reckoning; the Last Judgment. Mercy is available now, but only justice then. In AD 1019 there were Vikings everywhere, but no flush toilets anywhere. I'm trying to give you a sense of how long a millennium is. A thousand years ago you would have grown your own food, sewn your own clothes, and historians tell us it was very hard to find a place to charge your iPhone. Well, Jesus will rule this planet for that length of time, a thousand years. But He won't rule alone. He'll have "family" in His administration.
