Till You Return Unto The Ground - Part 2 of 2

People often say, "Life stinks, and then you die." I wonder if they know they're paraphrasing Genesis. Our existence here is called the "vale of tears" for a reason: we all go through pain, sorrow and loss. We have to toil for our bread, and everything else we need, and want. And then we die. It all goes back to the curse God pronounced on Adam. Pastor Jim continues his thoughts on that today, and he'll specify four effects that we still feel from this judgment...which is also a blessing.

"Your desire will be for your husband...and he will rule over you." Today we'll look at some of the most controversial - and most caricatured - words in the Bible. There are two things we should try to remember as we listen today: God is speaking to husbands and wives - not to men and women who have no covenant with each other. And in the Christian framework, true leaders are servants. Jesus wasn't diminished as a coequal member of the Trinity when He chose to be guided by the Father. Instead, He will be glorified. The Woman And The Curse - Part 1 of 2

Because of the Curse "things are tough all over," but men and women suffer differently. When we read Genesis 3 we notice that God addressed each of the wrongdoers in order, and judged them individually. He sentenced the serpent for his crimes first. Next, he turned to Eve. That's what we'll look at today and tomorrow in a message called The Woman and the Curse.
