Parables aren't exactly "code," but when presented expertly, they can serve the purpose of enlightening insiders, while keeping outsiders in the dark. And Jesus was the expert's Expert at parables. The Gift Of A Ransom Paid

Before they were called Christians, believers were derided as "Nazarenes." Many saw them as a breakaway sect of Judaism. Matthew argues that Jesus had not preached anything contrary to Jewish law - as prescribed by God. Rather, He had fulfilled Hebrew prophecy.
