To expect something but not be ready for it - why, that would be foolish! Half of the 10 virgins in Jesus' parable were foolish. They expected the Bridegroom to arrive... but they expected Him to arrive soon! They must have thought they had reasons to believe that. But they didn't really know the Groom - and that was their fatal folly. Jesus returns with the church, not for the church! We've been trying to think more clearly about what will happen at the close of the age, the end of Gentile rule of the Earth. Christian scholars come up with different solutions for how to fit the scriptures together, but some solutions work better than others. The Tribulation as purification? In our previous two broadcasts we've noticed something about the Great Tribulation; we've seen God's focus on the people of Israel during that 7-year period. Is the Book of Revelation "too far out there?" John's Apocalypse is just too weird to be in the Bible. It's way, way too violent. It refers too much to the Old Testament. It's too hard to understand.
