God pleads with man. It doesn't seem quite right. Now, for man to plead with God - to entreat Him, to throw ourselves on the mercy of the Court - that picture feels consistent with what we know to be our true status before the Lord of all. But God tells us in 2 Corinthians 5 that He has lowered Himself to petition us! And what is His request of each human being? Be reconciled. Come back to Him.
