You and I can be sidelined by "side issues." Doubtful things, disputable matters, gray areas. There are issues of conscience on which Christians may disagree. But that doesn't mean they're not important. Paul was concerned about "disqualifying" himself because of these side issues. They're useful to the enemy in the cultural war.
